In The News

Not a good sign when the lead paragraph starts off something like this. "A Dallas Independent School District hall monitor is accused of waving a gun and threatening a woman in a road-rage incident Thursday morning. Bobby Strogen, 47, is being held on suspicion of aggravated assault in the Dallas County jail. " dmn

Its all very scary your gun laws etc..... we watched a programme on the telly last night about traffic police here in Blighty and there in Doodleland, the difference was wellabit scary, when our offices stopped a car or pursued a car and eventually stopped if, they have no worries about going up to the driver and dragging them out, and dealing with them, whereas in Doodleland those poor officers have to face the prospect of being gunned down by some crazy loon, sometimes just cos of being pulled over for a dodgy brake light...... tiz a crazy world.... and there are crazy people with access to guns just willy nilly.....

Dam over here you even get done for having a penknife in ones car without due reason for it being there, one is not allowed to even carry a penknife in ones pocket here....without due reason, and then its only mainly for work reasons....

But one can carry a snikcers bar LOL

I admit some apprehension regarding the gun laws also- namely that the USA is trying to adopt the UK model.

Armed citizens are not the problem.

Misuse of firearms, as in the case of road rage, should be dealt with sternly, appropriately.

But the notion of disarming a nation, in the name of "only the proper authorities" possessing firearms, is a prescription for tyranny, and has been played out many times in history.
