Sad Picture

As I recall the symbolism behind this picture is this young mans only desire was to come home and have his daughter on his chest. The first day I was home my daughter stayed on my chest essentially from noon until two am the next morning.

I thank God for that day.

CHUPA -- THANK YOU for the sacrifices you gave and continue to this day to give. There is nothing in this world I can say that can express my gratitude, other than the tear I have shed on your thoughts of that moment. Life is so dear and fragile. Thank you!

Hey ya'll thanks for your kind comments. Although I need to say I'm nothing- a nobody.

This kid is my hero- so much to lose, so much to live for and he gave it all up for his country and his buddies. As Gia pet I think it was said,"Remember, they all volunteered."

I'll accept your thanks as a poor representative of the TRUE heroes since I did go when I could have stayed home but, that is all.

You are too modest, you had as much to lose as this young man. God bless him and God bless you. I am glad you're safely home and thank you for your service.

Chupa -- never say that. You put on that uniform. You served our country. That is more than most. Not just anyone, but you. Someone returned. Somebody got to tell the story of this young HERO and that man is you. It is just a small part of the uniform. The part no one talks about. You are his legacy. You are his story.

I know you seved proudly and we, as a nation, are grateful of YOU.

I AM. I am honored to know you, if only by the cyber-world. YOU ARE A HERO, reguardless of you accepting the fact or not.

Every morning and night that fact is evident in your childrens eyes. You are the American soldier. You ask for nothing but give all. You are our witness to what is this great nation. So humble you can remain, but just know, we, your nation, see you in a different light. A HERO!

anon at 2:03 again.

Everyone that wore the uniform stepped up and signed a check made payable to the citizens of the USA, in the amount of "up to and including my life".
Thank you again.
