I just intentionally listened to a Bob Dylan song for the first time in my life. Before today of course, I'd heard his stuff but only things that are played on the radio or hearing him accidentally in the periphery of my life.

I can relate. I think I had an 8-track of Hard Rain, or maybe Blood on the Tracks, in my first car in the '70s, but I rarely listened to it.

While I have an appreciation for Dylan the songwriter, I think much of his catalog has been better interpreted by others, with a few notable exceptions.

I read an interview he gave a couple of years ago, and was impressed that he actually seemed sort of normal, and rejects a lot of the baggage that he was the enlightened muse of the 1960s.

Hey Don- yeah I'm thinking he's kind of great. I'm really surprised it took so long for me to give him a try.
I also kind of knew out of the corner of my mind that he wrote songs others have done that I really liked.

I was never a Dylan fan. He's a horrible singer. But the man is a legendary songwriter. I'll struggle through his vocals to listen to the message.
