From Wikipedia Article: Blog

"Scientists have long known the therapeutic benefits of writing about personal experiences. Blogs provide another convenient avenue for writing about personal experiences. Research shows that it improves memory and sleep, boosts immune cell activity and reduces viral load in AIDS patients and even speeds healing after surgery."

Very interesting I thought, however, one thing I noted this article traced the origins of blogging to online diaries. I'm arguably sure though it got it's early traction from IT people using them as a log to insure that members of software development teams would be on the same page while working on different areas of the same project. Cartoons, wave files, executables and then personal stories etc. followed to keep things lively then non work related diaries followed to become what we know as blogs.

Online diaries. Hmm. Until someone let the trolls out of their cage. Not the smartest thing anymore. ;)
