We assault the outback of Mineral Wells State Park at dawn Saturday morning. I am now fully geared up and have everything I need for a life outdoors and am only lacking for a few things I want. Included on my packing list and your next must read- if you know what is good for you is, River Of Doubt a history of TRs expedition to the Amazon River. It is a great- great book. I woke up early to resume it after staying up way late and crashing out with it in the bed.

Gaffemeister Biden On The Campaign Trail
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Glrnb_G34E4 talking to Katie Couric about FDRs response to stock market crash of 1929 on television, that's a great analogy for any disaster today right? The only problems I can see with the reference are FDR assumed office in 1933 and the crash was in 1929 and television wasn't commercially available until the late 30s but, other than that yeah, he's right.
After you watch it, you'll understand one of his best and most ironic lines in this clip is," Part of what a leader does to instill confidence is demonstrate that he or she knows what they’re talking about."

Another First For T.R.
On August 25, 1905 he became the first U.S. President to ride in a military submarine when he boarded the USS Plunger and ran submerged in it for 55 minutes.
PS: Maybe it's just me but, couldn't they have thought of a better name than Plunger?
