Monday's Missives
| A garter snake found along with another at Holland Lake Park in Weatherford America |
- Long ago a nurse who helped train me in my first job got busted for falsifying blood sugar test results. Not only would doing the work correctly including the documentation take all of 3 minutes per patient- what the *!;^% were you thinking?! You could have killed somebody!
- A postscript to that thought: She was allowed to resign on the spot and walk. Maybe 5 people know that story. Today, it would be international news. She would be jailed and afterwards would be lucky if she got to wait tables somewhere.
- Connected thought: I sincerely hope ( and even think it very likely true) that she learned her lesson.
I don't know what the point it is but it took some talent and imagination to make this giant sculpture for a fest on Magnolia in Funkytown America. - No matter where I go there are always nursing and allied staff who won't let any other nurse touch them for shots and skin tests but me.
Occasionally, I still get cards trying to sell me services (or scam extended warranties) for the Beemer which I have not owned in some years. - This weekend I think I will take my children to a Japanese Hibachi steak house.
Somebody has been talking to my ex wife. Well, some may say I'm a dreamer but I'm not the only one...
My daughter's last fund raising company really needs to let me do some proofing for them. - If I had to give a young person advice-one thing to hold on to it might be, Do not make your life harder than it has to be.
- As a bonus I would say, Be very spare with giving advice.
I am a Minion: I have arrived. - This weekend (today is 12/21/2015) I watched both 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later. 28 Days is a great horror movie with nearly perfect music. At one point I owned the soundtrack. 28 Weeks is very good and the music adequate.
- Great almost always comes out greta for me the first time.

Thursday's Thoughts
- Stairway To Heaven was playing on the radio yesterday (01/03/2015) and I heard it for the first time in years. I sang along and used hand gestures to express the lyrics. The high falsetto parts were even attempted. FG laughed. I was surprised at how much of the lyrics I remembered as in really- I cannot even guess the last time I heard it.
- She says we're done. No, not because of my awful singing- just in general.
My thrill seeker daughter - During the trailers at the theater yesterday I am positive one of them had the release date of 01/17/2014. That would make it a Friday of January last year or Saturday of this if they meant 2015- unlikely as movies are not released on Saturday. The name of the movie eludes me now but it looked stunningly terrible from the trailer.
- Roger Daltry was in a movie where he plays a bank robber. I had to look it up but it was called McVicar and wasn't awful.
- FG's dumb cat has a strange loyalty toward me even though i hate his guts. FG says to me, He is gay for you and You're his boyfriend.
Another one of FG's tattoo designs for me - Last night after gassing up the econo box we call Bullit I pulled around by a bunch of hot rodders/street racers/miscreants hanging at the car wash and putting the car in neutral as we slowly rolled by I revved the engine- zoom, zooooom, zoOOoooOOom as their mouths hung open in disbelief and they said, What the...!? We were still laughing halfway across town. I thought I was going to hyperventilate. I was seeing spots and my diaphragm was spasmodic.
- Maybe you had to be there.
This is a fork on the seat of my truck. You're welcome. - If money were no object- I won that proverbial lottery or whatever, my dwelling would be awesome of course but not ridiculous. However, the wall separating the garage from the house would be glass so I could see all my cool cars and motorcycles.
- Now all I have to do is sit here and rock back and forth wanting all that money.
A drive by shooting: this place has always gotten on my nerves- it isn't on a corner! ARRRRRRRH- you can't do that!
Another : looks like there was a gun show on the Wise County _________ Grounds Nov. 22nd & 23rd. Good to know somebody is standing up to Obama and his liberal agenda.
Otra: I haven't been to Casa Torres since they built the new building
Autere: I love Decatur's library building and was always proud of it. It would be a pleasant surprise if it doesn't (or hasn't in the past) leaked like a pasta strainer.
Anutter peanut butter: These things in the middle of the road make me nervous.
Andere: As wrong as it is, you know what I think when I see these signs (and always have)? Deet dah dee... - Donna Douglas as died. I was reading about her at 4 o'clock in the morning before the announcement was made- she wasn't dead and the article wasn't about her death. How random and wild is that? I do not know the last time she crossed my mind.
- Does the apostrophe in o'clock connote, of the clock?

Monday's Missives
- Uh, the attempted murder of a civilian by a US soldier. I was the principal witness and first to report it. A response I cautiously use in mixed company as an answer to questions such as, What was the weirdest/wildest/saddest/scariest etc. thing you saw in Iraq?
- Yes, polite dinner conversation comes to a screeching halt.
- Strictly speaking it involved a discharge of a weapon multiple times into the cab of a vehicle unnecessarily, without provocation and without regard for whether the person inside was killed or wounded. The shooter was wanting to gitsum so he set the shooting up to have plausible deniability- he just didn't know there was a witness.
- Lasers have gone from huge (and hugely expensive) research objects to cheap key chain curiosities in my lifetime.
- I think I'm going to get braces for my teeth.
- "How many women have you ever kissed?" A question asked of my friend recently by a woman he's dating.
- They're in their forties.
- I have intentionally left out for the most part political talk on this blog. When I realized that political thought is a part of me and I should put those thoughts here so people could get to know me and I could look back on those thoughts later I determined to write more about my political thoughts. To make up for lost time and as a bit of a goof I thought it might be interesting to write every day or every few days for a month on the same post and then publish it later. I tried it. It looked like a psychotic rant- if I accidentally died in a car wreck and caused some kind of conflagration the news would have called it a, "rambling manifesto" and ask, Why did he try to take as many people out with him as he could when he killed himself...
- My nursing buddy won't hardly look at me much less speak to me. The reason why is yesterday (04252013) we got into a screaming and cursing match when she was wrong and wouldn't turn loose of something and topped it off by basically saying I was lying and remembered something incorrectly. She also did these things very publicly trying to make a fool of me.
- The short answer is- I let her get under my skin.
- Win an argument- lose a friend.
Zac's first selfie.
These acorns came from a tree I know was planted the same year or a year or two prior to my moving to Weatherford. Leaves of three, fill your pockets with me... No, wait that can't be right. Leaves of three, won't hurt thee... Found in the woods near Sunshine Lake. It is either a hide for an animal trap or the hut of the remnants of a tribe of very tiny native Americans. Mmm dakn gobble gorfin! var ernge? Translation: Dad this orange is good! Can I have another? Here, have some cleavage. Just don't tell friend-girl I showed it to you. I pronounce it in the manner of the French- Cleh-vahge. What is that!? Friend-girls reaction to seeing this plant. Retarded vandalism.
Somebody either left Sunshine Lake with less clothes than they came out with or they drowned.

Weatherford- My Town: A review Part Two
- Nizza Pizza is very good, reasonably priced, with a wide variety of pastas. They accidentally ordered an awesome Oreo cheesecake once that went over so well they had to start carrying it routinely. Seating is too tight for my taste so I don't go when it's crowded.
- Gibson's. It's nice to know there is an alternative to Wal Mart, plus they keep about 200 guns in stock. I know a lot of people who will shop no where else.
- Boo Rays Mostly bad, but OK some days. The food is cooked to mush, then so called Cajun spices are added. The sides never seem fresh- regardless of time of day or size of crowd etc. People go there and drink, then they don't care so much about food quality.
- We had the best Wendy's ever but it shut down. It wasn't very well sited for starters and then I think maybe the road construction finished it off.
- Jerry's Will never get another nickel of my money.
- Traffic: It's terribleness is terrible.
- Roger Williams I have bought multiple cars there and would do so again.
- Roger Williams Body Shop Never another nickel...
- Sunshine Lake Needs lots of work- lots of help, but I love it and have walked all the way around it multiple times. It's a great place to explore.
- Wal Mart. Oddly, multiple people have told me they love ours and stop when they pass through. I don't really get that- a Wal Mart is a Wal Mart I'd think, but yes -at least two people have indicated they stop when they're anywhere near town.
- Cops are always pretty great. I've literally never heard anybody offer anything but praise for them. At certain times and places they get a little speed trap-ish but as misguided as it is, I think they're trying to make that stretch of road safer. They hammer school zones and people passing school buses and that is A OK in my book.

Some Things Just Rub Me The Wrong Way
In an article about the July 4 weekend in the Weatherford Telegram the police chief was quoted saying the public was "compliant and well behaved"-grrrr. Don't get me started.
