with 'Til Tuesday performing Voices Carry live. I was serving in Bad Herserfeld Germany with K Troop 3/11 Armored Cavalry when it came out. Where were you?

    The song was released in March 1985, and reached its peak position at number four on the Billboard charts several months later, in August 1985.

    In other words... "Voices Carry" was the number four song in the country the week that I was born.
