Hey Cap'n- I know exactly what you mean. When you come across this vid there is always the argument- "Humans are being blown to pieces and you are worried about the donkey?!?" But we qualify those so called people and then there is the aspect that the Talib had a choice- the donkeys did not. Anyway, the reason I posted that without a description was to see who might mention the donkeys and/or my use of the term "beauty" to describe that attack so thanks for the segue!
Hey Don- That would be a good idea... Good question... Interestingly , we had a reflective tab on our sleeves and a tiny IR strobe on our helmets. Another thought: you might be surprised how after hours upon hundreds of hours a soldier can determine a persons intentions by observation. I can't even acquiesce to the point that it is a self fulfilling prophecy (although it CAN be) or whatever. It is borne out often in practice- people can just look like they're up to no g
